Hillier Hopkins News

Giving Back

Hillier Hopkins is a socially responsible business and is committed to making a positive contribution to our community. We support a wide variety of charities and community organisations and place an emphasis on causes within our local area.

Each year we support many local charitable organisations with sponsorship of their events, advertising in their publications, raising money through staff fundraising activities.

Hillier Hopkins is also a provider of audit and accounts services to the charity sector.

Sponsorship

  • Truly, Madly Mozart Royal Gala Performance with Hospice of St Francis and Watford Peace Hospice
  • Tabard Rugby Club Juniors
  • Acorn Raiders under 13s football team
  • Dacorum Business Awards
  • Diaries, event programmes and magazines

Giving time

The staff and principals of the firm contribute over 500 hours of the firm's time to community projects, and we encourage our partners and staff to become involved in  charity and  community projects with the full support of the firm.

As part of our sponsorship of the Hospice of St Francis and the Watford Peace Hospice, staff time was given to help set up a window display in the Berkhamsted St Francis shop to promote the gala event Truly Madly Mozart, and staff volunteered to spend the day digging and clearing the shop garden.

Giving something tangible

Hillier Hopkins collects donations for distribution between our local charity shops. We have regular collections ranging from a few boxes of bric-a-brac to 15 black bin bags of clothes and items.

Dress down days happen throughout the year for the various charities that we support including, Jeans for Genes, Red Nose Day, Children in Need, and The Lennox Children's cancer fund. Please click here to see our donation certificates.

Our receptionist in Hemel collects all the stamps from our post for distribution between the Hospice of St. Francis for their new building appeal, the Bransby Home of Rest for Horses and Chiltern Dog Rescue.

Giving something back

We are very aware of how much paper, ink cartridges for printers, and corporate collateral we use and distribute and make every attempt to reduce wastage. All our confidential shredding is sent for recycling and our internal every day paper waste is used as scrap paper or shredded for recycling.

Along with stationery, we collect and recycle a variety of items:

  • Paper and cardboard including magazines and old collateral
  • Mobile phones and chargers
  • Old business cards used as word cards at schools
  • Printer and photocopier toner cartridges
  • Plastic and glass bottles
  • Stamps
  • Aluminium bottle tops and food trays
